2 Things to Get Excited About

1. Robert Egger is at it again! - spreading innovative ideas on the nonprofit sector in the Financial Times, of all places:

"Think boldly for a moment. Imagine if there was a way to measure and then reward strategic investments in non-profits in the form of an annual and potentially growing tax deduction based on the same rate of return principle as the dividend. Imagine how that would revolutionise the productivity of non-profits, as well as create an incentive for individuals to seek out and support some of the most dynamic social and economic stimulators in their communities."

Great article, raises some unconventional ideas that we need to be talking about more widely.

2. I'm also cised about Blue Avocado: a new bite-sized magazine by and for people who work and volunteer in community nonprofits - edited by the fabulous Jan Masaoka formerly of CompassPoint Services. Blue Avocado's aim is to engage and support the people of community nonprofits, the ones who do the heavy lifting in building social justice and strong communities, and who create and drive the ideas that change our world for the better.

Hi Rosetta! Thanks for the heads up on Blue Avacado. I hadn't heard about it. As a board member of a grassroots neighborhood association, I'm excited to learn about the resource. Keep up the great work! - Nicole Notario-Risk, Johnson Center for Philanthropy at GVSU
